Process Optimization, Database Launch

The CHCPSF is a non-profit organization that creates opportunities for students and teachers in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools in North Carolina.

The focus of this solution was to develop a centralized user management and analytics platform to more effectively utilize and distribute the CHCPSF's volunteer and financial resources. Prior to this solution, user tracking (students, volunteers, donors, and administrators) and financial tracking was scattered across various platforms including manually in legacy Excel workbooks.

What I Did:
  • Conducted current state analysis across 3 analytics platforms: Salesforce, Google Analytics, and Oracle.
  • Performed requirements gathering and developed user stories through customer interviews and competitive analysis to streamline the user experience in user management (e.g., donors, students, volunteers), document management, and financial tracking in repeated iterations.
  • Designed future state architecture to support the various future management and finance use cases.
  • Collaborated with engineers to launch SQL-based back-end database to support users' data needs.
Outcomes:
  • Productivity improvement of 60% to 80% by streamlining analytics platforms and user management experience.
  • Improved KPI metrics, which led to a 25% ROI on resources utilized (volunteer time and grant usage).
